Volunteer

We believe that volunteerism and community engagement is a great way for students to give back to the MacEwan and Edmonton community. Students are able to gain experience, develop skills, and network!

Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn so you don’t miss out on any future MUAC opportunities!

We appreciate your interest in volunteering with us!

Tax Clinic Volunteers

The MacEwan University Accounting Club (MUAC) is hosting its annual Tax Clinic through the Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVTIP) this upcoming March. This year, the Tax Clinic will operate from March 13 to March 24 from 9AM to 5PM, Monday to Friday each week.

This is a wonderful opportunity to gain knowledge and engagement within the community! No experience is required and a training session will be provided to volunteers at two different dates (February 28 at 6PM & March 4 at 12PM). As a Tax Preparer you will gain valuable skills and benefits such as:
• Experience filing T1 tax returns
• Volunteer experience to enhance your resume
• Satisfaction of supporting your local community

First-time volunteers will need to register for an EFILE number, while returning volunteers must renew their EFILE number. Additionally, the CRA is requiring that all CVITP volunteers register for a RepID. Instructions on how to complete these tasks are provided in this email (see below).

If you are interested in volunteering for the 2023 Tax Clinic, please fill out the Google form at the bottom of this message. If you have any questions, or require assistance with the registration process please send an email to president@muac.ca.
