TAX CLINIC 2020 has been cancelled
Every year, we look forward to connecting and helping individuals with preparing and filing their personal income tax returns through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. But given the growing concerns and escalating situation of COVID-19 worldwide (Coronavirus disease) we, the MUAC and SAMU have made the difficult decision to cancel our Tax Clinic 2020 event.
This was a tough call to make as tax clinic is an important event for people to file their tax returns for free and it’s one of our most notable events as a university student group.
But we need to prioritize the health and safety of our volunteers, clients, faculty, and of the MacEwan students at large.
We would like to thank all the volunteers, professors, and the MacEwan community who have invested their time and effort in attending our tax clinic training. We hope everyone remains safe during this outbreak, and to follow proper safety guidelines as outlined online by Alberta Health Services.
We thank everyone for your understanding and we hopefully can all go back to our healthier environment.
MacEwan University Accounting Club Executive Team
The MacEwan University Accounting Club is currently in the process of planning its annual 2020 Tax Clinic. The purpose of this event is to serve low to middle-income families and individuals including persons with disabilities, refugees, newcomers to Canada, as well as university students in the Edmonton and surrounding areas by helping them file free Canadian income tax returns.
